There is no mass pu-erh tea production in Thailand, so no plantations of Assam bushes. Vast areas of rainforest in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, and Nan provinces which have always had many old tea trees stay wild and almost untouched by man. The soil is not depleted, and the forests boast a biodiversity, which is good for the soil and the taste of tea. There is no deficiency in the organic pu-erh material. It means, even though not every factory has a certificate, these are always 100% organic pu-erh teas – forest trees are never fertilized or treated with pesticides.
