If you buy loose black tea from trees in our shop, you can be assured of getting organic tea. Thailand has a lot of old forest trees and the farmers do not suffer from the lack of material. They don’t try to squeeze the maximum yield, as is happens in China, where each tree is counted and marked. In Thailand, trees are not fertilized or sprayed with pesticides. Our organic black tea is powerful and “oily” by nature. That’s why you can steep it so many times! More...
As for loose-leaf black tea made from oolong bushes, we closely monitor the cultivation and production processes. Some of our suppliers are USDA organic certified, which guarantees pure, organic tea.
Sometimes a small farm doesn't bother to get an expensive certification but produces black tea from bug-bitten material. This also ensures that there are no pesticides on the leaf — cicadas won't fly over into a chemically treated plantation. Less...
One can note, the name of our black teas begins with a year, just like pu-erhs'. The thing about black teas is that they store fine and mature beautifully. So we don't chase fresh black teas but value their age and quality. Aged black tea can have a very deep flavor and an incredibly powerful effect on the body. More...
We don't press cakes but prefer to keep black tea loose-leaf. According to our observations, highly oxidized tea (which black tea is) matures best in loose form while pressed black tea can become excessively acidic over time. Less...
Black tea is a type of tea that is highly oxidized. The oxidation level ranges from 50 to 90%. In some sources, they refer to it as highly fermented tea but unlike shu pu-erhs, the dark color of the leaf is caused by the reaction with oxygen, and not the effect of the yeast or microorganisms. Actual heavy fermentation does not take place here.
In China, this tea is called “Red tea” or “Hong Cha” by the color of the infusion. More...
The producing technology of loose-leaf black tea usually fits into four stages: leaves withering, rolling, oxidation (depending on the variety and traditions of the region takes from 3 to 12 hours), and fixation — drying in a special cabinet or under the sun. Sun-dried black teas are called Shai Hongs. Thai black teas from old trees are oxidized for 9-10 hours.
The wonderful thing about black tea is that it can be made from any material, which means tea leaves of any biological species. It can be a bush of assamica, as in the case of Indian teas, or an oolong bush, or even a harvest from large old trees. In Thailand, it’s more often black tea from old trees (Gu Shu Hong Cha), although some oolong factories make black tea as well. Less...

Black tea tones up the body, activates blood circulation, lowers cholesterol, burns fats, and freshens the breath. The high content of tannin promotes the healing of damaged mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract.
In addition, black tea is a natural antidepressant that relieves irritability and stress, leaving a sense of peace and inner comfort. The Chinese say, this tea (“Hong Cha”) “raises the heat in the heart”, that is, it warms the body and gives a sensation of warmth in the soul. Black tea is especially useful for the “cold” type of people (susceptible to cold, with fast fatigue and drowsiness). And for everyone else - this is the best choice in the cold season!
