Harvested in 2024 from guaranteed old-growth Thai trees, estimated to be around 500 years old, the material is juicy, fruity, with a little brutal, Bulan Shan-like character, and 100% organic. It’s been carefully roasted in the old-school style, aiming for long-term storage and aging.
This is one of those shengs whose sweet aroma seeps right through the paper.
The fragrance offers a fruity and berry mix, with hints of apples, wild strawberries, and tropical fruits.
In taste, the main melody is played by fresh and dried apricots.
The aftertaste brings a blend of apple and apricot notes.
The tea is still quite young, with some astringency, but its high-quality, aromatic material is sure to impress any experienced pu-erh lover.
Over time, it’s expected to develop rich dried-fruit sweetness. This sheng is highly recommended for aging — and that’s exactly what its name suggests.
You can also purchase an older version of it from the 2021 harvest.
Amazing stuff! It has the effects I was hoping for, I really enjoy the apricot flavor and its sweetness and minerality. Very well balanced and of great depth. I had 2 senchas before doing a full session, not sure how much this contributed to the effects, but I felt uplifted and a blissful stillness for a few hours.
I received this pu-erh as a gift. I liked the taste — light and pleasant astringency, smooth to drink, with a long apple-pear aftertaste.
