Ceramic gaiwan from Thailand pottery factory. Made of Thai dark and white clay mix. Matte glaze of dark green or jadeite color.

I’ve been using this gaiwan for several years now. At first, after the Chinese ones, it was unusual. It is heavy and solid as if made of stone. Much less heats than the usual porcelain gaiwan. Therefore, It keeps warmth just as well as an Yixing teapot. This is convenient when drinking a pu-erh. Providing both heat capacity and full access to material for detailed assessment, this gaiwan is two advantages in one.

I would say that this is a male gongfu cha instrument, for a strong and large paw. A solid object, for a leisurely, profound session, everything just like we love.
