A set of two Myanmar purple-leaf pu-erhs of different types, raw and ripe, from the same material. The harvest of spring 2013 from 100-200-year-old tea trees. Two 25g packs in wicker bag.

Sheng (Raw) Pu-erh

2013 Myanmar Purple Leaf Raw Pu-erh Tea. Its aroma is sweet and floral with hints of raisin. The taste is rich, dominated by raisins and apricots. Understandable and predictable sheng for every day.

Shou (Ripe) Pu-erh

2018 "Idle Buffalo" Myanmar Purple Leaf Ripe Pu-erh Tea. Fermented in November 2018 and turned out to be very distinctive in taste. There are notes of leather, wood, and fruit mix. The shou is brewed into a dense black infusion and has good stamina. Will please those who are tired of the standard taste of factory-made ripe pu-erhs.

This sheng shou set is clearly high quality and worth trying, though it's not exactly to my tastes.
This is partly because TS Thai teas set a high bar.
For the sheng- it's one of the best purple raw puers I've had, great quality, I just don't like purple sheng so much.
For the Shou- it has strong taste and many good qualities, but TS Thai ripes are superior.

So this set is educational and of high quality so the 4 stars are well earned, but the 5 stars clearly belong to it's Thai peers.
